Mrs Sylvia Walden, 43, of Pana died at 10:30 a.m. yesterday in Huber Memorial Hospital of burns received Sunday morning when her dress caught fire as she attempted to fix a broken stovepipe in her home.
Her dress ignited as the pipe fell and she received burns over her entire body. Taken to the hospital her condition was not at first thought critical. A verdict of accidental death from first and second degree burns was returned at an inquest conducted yesterday afternoon in the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home here.
Mrs Walden leaves her husband, John, and several brothers and sisters. She was a native of Altamont.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery.
