Frances Harper Gillespie was born 11 Feb 1894, Chicago, to James Somerville Gillespie and Anna M Weigel Gillespie. She married, 5 Dec 1917, William Fay Johnston. In April 1920, 2 months after the birth of her son, William Harper Johnston, Francis died at the age of 26.Survived by her parents,sister Jean Gillespie, brother Frederick Gillespie and infant son Wm. Harper, who was cared for and reared by grandparents James & Anna Gillespie.
