Funeral services for W.P. Boyd, 73, who died yesterday at the home of a relative, Miss Lillie Cook of Cook road, Hermitage, will be held today at 2 p.m. in Bakers Grove Baptist Church.
The Rev. Eddie Holland will officiate and burial will be in Sullivan cemetery there.
Born in 1872 in Davidson county, he was the son of the late J.W. and Annie Boyd. He was employed as a house painter before his retirement a number of years ago because of failing health. Mr. Boyd never married.
He was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. A.T. Jenkins of Hermitage, Mrs. V.D. Smith and Miss Alba Boyd of Waco, Texas, and two brothers, Edgar Boyd of Adel, Ga., and Garfield Boyd of Nashville.
