James Merlin Campbell, 54, of Mullens, W. Va., died Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in a Mullens hospital after a short illness. Born Nov. 16, 1924, in Campbellsville, Ky., he was a son of the late Alphonzo H. and Maude Florence (Bowen) Campbell. Mr. Campbell had lived in Mullens 31 years and had practiced public accounting there since 1948. He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Mullens, a graduate of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky., and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Casinelli Campbell; three daughters, Miss Janet Marie Campbell of Huntington, Mrs. Barry (Teresa) Hall of Daniels and Mrs. Kenneth (Mary Frances) McBride of Mullens; one son, John Merlin, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Doy (Marie) Brinkley of Salem, Ky., Mrs. Lucille Stiche of Louisville, Ky., Mrs. Grace Simpson of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. W. R. Beard (Juanita) Beard of Campbellsville, Ky., and three brothers, Granvil of Waynesville, N.C., John of Beckley and Paul Campbell of Campbellsville, Ky. Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St. John's Catholic Church in Mullens with the Revs. Martin Iott and Samuel Sacus officiating.
