Among them, "Jack London" in 1943 with Virginia Mayo, "Man from Frisco" in 1944, "The Big Wheel" in 1949, "Bloodhounds of Broadway" in 1952, and many others. After leaving formal education at age twelve, he refused to become a policeman like his five Irish Catholic brothers and joined Vaudeville comedic acts. Before becoming an actor, he had a dance band, "Michael O'Shea and His Stationary Gypsies." He was featured in radio dramas as "Eddie O'Shea." After having grand reviews for his role in the 1942 play "The Eve of St. Mark" on Broadway, he was approached for films, where he had mainly roles as a supporting actor. After his last film, "It Should Happen to You," in 1954, he appeared as a guest actor on several television shows. From 1954 to 1956, he appeared in the role of Danny Davis in 76 episodes of the sitcom "It's a Great Life." He was nominated for the 1955 Emmy Award for Most Outstanding New Personality and received a 1960 Hollywood Walk of Fame Star for television performances. He was married twice. With his first wife, he had a son and a daughter. In 1947, after a bitter divorce, he was married to popular actress Virginia Mayo. The couple had a daughter. He and Mayo were in Dallas preparing for a touring stage performance when he suddenly died of a heart attack.
