Helen Lois (Dikeman) Gedney, of Waconia, born February 21, 1918 Minneapolis, MN passed into Heavenly peace on January 15 at the age 94.

Helen married John "Jack" Charles Gedney in 1959 and made their home in Excelsior together.

She is preceded in death by beloved Husband Jack, parents, Pansy C Dikeman & Ellis F Dikeman, sister, Patricia (Lloyd) Olson and brother, Dickie Dikeman.

Survived by son, William "Bill" (Patricia) Gedney; grandchildren, Jennifer (Sam) Golbach, Rothschild, Wisconsin; Jerry "Jay" Gedney, St. Paul; Valerie (Tim) Dieck, Williston, ND; William Gedney, Fort Myers, FL; great grand-children, Grace, Gabriel Golbach, Savannah Malz, Spencer Marshall, nephew, Lance and niece, Laurie.

Helen retired from Northwestern Bell/AT&T after 44 years of service as a telephone operator and account rep. She was witty, smart and sassy with a contagious personality. She unselfishly gave unconditional love, support and patience to her son and grandchildren. She was a supportive Firefighters wife, active volunteer at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Excelsior, MN, active volunteer and auxiliary member of American Legion Post 259.

Funeral service 11:00 AM Saturday January 19, 2013 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 301 County Road 19, Excelsior, with visitation one hour prior to service at Church.

Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery
