He retired from Chase Bag Company after 32 years of faithful service. Poppie loved bluegrass and 'bluegrass people.' He was a member of the Bluegrass Association and attended Central Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, and his daughter, Ida 'Boots' Benthall.
He leaves to mourn his passing, a son, Adron 'Ham' Rich Jr. and his wife, Sondra; three daughters, Doris Rich, Lillie 'Frankie' Shye and her husband, Howard, and Judy Frye and her husband, William; two sisters, Christine Rich and Mary Cousins; also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank their dedicated friend and neighbor, Shirley Fishel, and the aides and nurses at Hope and Home Care.
