He was born October 24th, 1931 in Piney Grove Ridge Community, a son of the late Vola Dalton and Ella Bea Sumpter He was a United States Marine Korean War Veteran, brick mason, farmer and a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church #2, Nancy, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Johnson) Dalton, whom he married on October 24th, 1952 in Ringgold, Va.; one son, Rodney (and Sharon) Dalton, Nancy, Kentucky; one daughter, Vickie (and Marty) Yaden, Nancy, Kentucky; four brothers, Leonard Dalton, Piney Grove Community of Nancy, Kentucky, Mac Arthur Dalton, Somerset, Kentucky, Harry Dalton, Kings Mill, Ohio and Kenneth Dalton, Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters, Virginia (and M. C.) Cundiff, Shelbyville, Indiana and Edna (and Harold) Allen, Ingle, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Tameen Ryan Dalton, Heather Dalton Lawhorn, Chad and Chase Yaden; one great grandchild, Bailey Ryan and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Beecher, William, Ercell and Howard Dalton; one sister, Sheila Dalton. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9th, 2003 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Federal Home with Brother Charles Woodcock officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Somerset, Kentucky. Visitation will be after 6:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8th, 2003 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
