In 1879 Simon was a dry goods merchant in the new town of Glencoe in Northampton Twp., Somerset Co., PA. which had just been made a village in 1670 and when it became a post office in 1881 he was appointed the first postmaster. (1) Sometime before 1905, when his father died, he had moved to Chicago, Illinois. (2) There seems to be 2 death dates for him 30 years apart. Our records also gives him two wives although the first wife outlived him if the first death date is correct. He may have divorced his first wife although our records do not show this.
