Helen (Wilson) Archer -
EASTPORT - Helen Wilson Archer, 66, passed away Friday morning, Jan. 11, 2013. She was born Dec. 8, 1946, in Eastport, the daughter of Jack and Mabel (Rogers) Wilson.

Helen grew up and attended schools in Eastport. She was employed by the city of Eastport for 26 years and retired in 2010. She then worked on a part-time basis for Eastport Port Authority. She enjoyed researching the history of Eastport and her family roots. She, along with two of her sisters, were members of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an active member of Border Historical Society, which she served as a board memer; she also served on the boards of Peavey memorial Library and Waterview Terrace.

She was predeceased by her loving parents; a brother, Fred L. Wilson; and four sisters, Ethel Craig, Jackie Bowen, Dawn Jones and Beverly Carter. Survivors include her devoted husband of 27 years, Rocky Archer of Eastport; three loving sons, John Surles and his companion, Cammi Deschane, of Eastport, Chris Surles and his companion, Lori Niles, of Woodland and Aaron Surles and his companion, Candi Dana, of Perry; three step-sons; Roscoe "Sonny" Archer and his wife, Shelley, of Alaska, David Archer and his wife, Missy, of Virginia and John Archer and his wife, Alison, of Dennysville; 12 grandchildren, who were all very special to her, Dalton-John, Logan and Jack Wilson Surles, Brooklynn Gardiner, Braydi Dana-Surles and Kason Dana, Ross and Sam Archer, Dylan and Jeramy Archer and Izyck and Blake Archer; a brother, James Wilson of Perry; three sisters, Marcia Arensberg of Michigan, Cory Critchley of Eastport and New York and Pamela Strong of Augusta; three special nieces, Cindy Grant of Clifton, Betsy Craig of Calais and Michelle Stanhope of Pembroke; a very extra special aunt and close friend, Meg Bongirne of Florida and Lincoln; a very special daughter-in-law, Tami Emig of Alaska; a special adopted daughter, Julia Lingley and her husband, Jerry, their children, Tiffany and Jake, all of Pembroke; and her other son, Mhammed Sbabbi. Helen was lovingly known to her many nieces and nephews as Aunt Hubba.

At Helen's request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in the Wilson family lot at a later date.
