Louis Brave, 84, of 320 Whitelaw avenue, Wood River, retired owner of the City club, died Saturday at his residence.
He was born May 7, 1887, in Edwardsville township and had attained the age of 64 years, five months and six days. He was married to Miss Emma Bartels 43 years ago, who survives.
Besides his widow he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Brave; one son, Virgil of Wood River; one daughter, Mrs. T.W. Bolds of Wood River; three brothers, William Brave of this city, Edward Brave of Wanda, Albert Brave of Wood River; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Schaeffer and Mrs. William Bardelmeier of this city and Mrs. Ed Schoenbaum of Wood River; and two grandsons, Tommy Louis Bolds and William Richard Brave. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Brave. One son, Melvin, died in infancy.
He was a member of the Knights of Pythias the Moose and Elks lodge of Wood River.
Friends may call at the Marks Mortuary, 633 Lorena avenue, Wood River, until Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. when services will be held from the funeral home with the Rev. Henry Wiehman officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill cemetery.
