Virginia Farrell Young, born March 8, 1915, near Warwick, R.I., passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at age 97. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church of Grapevine. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at J.E. Foust & Son in Grapevine. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Grapevine Memorial Fund. In 1940, Ginny married Charles H. Young and the couple made their home in Fort Worth. She flew as a stewardess for American Airlines when stewardesses were required to be registered nurses. After the war, in which Charles served, and several moves, the couple, in 1953, settled on Rural Route 1, Grapevine (now Southlake). Ginny was active in many organizations, including the 36 Club, Grapevine Historical Society, PTA, First Presbyterian Church and the Kiwi Club. Ginny was preceded in death by her husband in April 2001. Survivors: She is survived by a son, Charles D. Young and his wife, Anita; three adult grandsons, David, Joseph Lee of Fort Worth and Daniel; brother-in-law, Lowell Dennis; sister-in-law, Avis Young; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
