Robert E. Krauss
Funeral services for Robert E. Krauss, 74, of Townsend, who died of an apparent heart attack at his home Sept. 4 were held Friday at St. John Lutheran Church in Townsend.
He was born May 16, 1910, in Chicago, son of Arthur and Julia Nelson Krauss.
He attended Plymouth schools, and later operated the Oak Park Tavern in the town of Plymouth for several years. In 1948, he moved to Townsend, where he owned and operated Krauss's Bar until 1972.
For the past 11 years, he worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Lakewood.
Mr. Krauss was married to Laone Schenk on May 1, 1951, at Iron Mountain, Mich.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Townsend.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lorrie) Gall of Madison, and one brother, Donald Krauss of Plymouth.
