Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, January 31, at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with Rev. Ed Wehner officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 30, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Rose was born February 6, 1918, in Hague, ND, the daughter of Ludwig and Mary Senger. She grew up on the family farm and attended school near Hague. Rose married Anton S. Wald on December 5, 1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hague. The couple made their home on a farm east of Zeeland. In 1994 they retired and moved to Bismarck. In 2000, Rose moved to Marillac Manor, where she enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle.
Rose was proud of her German Russian heritage and was known as the family historian. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters.
Rose is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Bob Word, Kadoka, SD; four sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney Wald, Crystal, MN, Robert and Rena Wald, St. Cloud, MN, Leon and Carol Wald, Billings, MT, and Ken and Bobi Wald, Rochester, MN; 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Barbara Weigel, Aberdeen, SD, and Dorothy Salwei, Twin Cities, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton; her parents; two brothers, Sebastian and Mike; three sisters, Philomena, Helen, and Mary; and one daughter-in-law, Marcella Wald.
