MACAULAY, HENRIETTA MAY ‘NETTIE,’ of Pictou, and formerly of Mt. Thom, Pictou County, passed away April 19, 2005 in the Shiretown Nursing Home, Pictou. Born in 1906 at Mount Thom, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Henrietta (Archibald) MacAulay. She was a homemaker and care giver to her extended family, whom she loved dearly. She was a member of the Kemptown United Church and later, the Pictou United Church. Nettie is survived by her sister, Peg, (Mrs. Clarence Morse), Pictou. She was predeceased by sisters, Elsie (Mrs. George MacKay) Balmoral Mills, Lucy Anna (Mrs. William Jones), Halifax, and by brothers, Russell, Pictou, Jim, Manganese Mines, Tom, Binghamton N.Y., Wilfred, Kentville, and Perley, Annapolis Royal. Visitation was held Thursday in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service was held Friday from the Pictou United Church, with Mary MacDermid officiating. Burial followed at the Mount Thom Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Mount Thom Cemetery Society, care of Betty Lou Scott, RR #1, Saltsprings NS B0K 1P0.
