Lena A. (Latino) Power, of Worcester, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence with her family gathered by her side. She was 90.

Lena was born August 24, 1922 one of ten children to Italian immigrants Paul and Rosalie (Graceffa) Latino. She was a graduate of the former Commerce High School and was a lifelong Worcester resident in the Burncoat neighborhood.

Her professional career began as a sales clerk at the former Denholm & McKay in Worcester and later at Norton Company and lastly as a secretary in the nursing department at Hahnemann Hospital, retiring in 1990.

Lena was a longtime member of St. Bernard's Church but in later years enjoyed attending Mass at St. Anne's in Shrewsbury with her daughter. Family oriented Lena loved cooking and taking care of her house and yard.

Her husband, Joseph P. Power died in June 1984. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Joseph, Phillip, Charles, Louis, Domenic and Paul Latino, Mary Leone and Ann Falzone.

She leaves her children, Joseph P. Power Jr. and his girlfriend, Deborah Valcourt, of Worcester and Mary A. Salerno and her husband, John, of Shrewsbury; her grandchildren, Arianna and Paul Power, Gianna and John Salerno; a sister, Frances Chase of Brewster; many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Lena's life by gathering for a calling hour at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center on Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. before leaving in procession to Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery
