Mary Lee Scott Crouse Livingood, 74, was called home to be with Jesus at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013, a warm and sunny day, at Donnell House, Washington, after being in failing health for the past several years.

She was born September 3, 1938, in East Finley Township, on the farm where she was raised, a daughter of the late Arno Gaylord and Ruth Elizabeth Travis Scott.

Mrs. Livingood attended Rocky School, a one-room schoolhouse, in East Finley Township and was a 1956 graduate of the former Claysville High School.

She had formerly resided in the Old Concord area, where she raised her family, the Graysville area and had also resided in Rogersville and Evergreen Personal Care Home in Waynesburg.

Mrs. Livingood was a former member of Enon Baptist Church and Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church in Prosperity and was a member and former vacation Bible school leader at Concord Presbyterian Church, at the time of her death.

She was a member of Evening Star Chapter 187, Order of the Eastern Star in Claysville.

Mrs. Livingood was well-known for her butterscotch pies, homemade rolls and sewing and was a former Girl Scout leader in the Prosperity area.

She was employed by the former Mansion House Restaurant in Old Concord from her early teen years until the early 1970s, the former Albano's Market in Washington, was a baby sitter for several area families and she and her late husband owned and operated the former Livingood Grocery and Hardware store in Graysville from 1977 until 1988.

On her birthday September 3, 1957, she married Ernest Duane Crouse, who died April 24, 1974. On January 4, 1975, she married Richard Delmar Livingood, who died February 7, 2005.

Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Teresa, wife of Scott Roberts of Rogersville; a son, Glenn Edward, husband of Pia Crouse of Old Concord; five grandchildren, Haddie Roberts Behm, Olivia Roberts and Jill, Emil and Samuel Crouse; four stepchildren, Mark Livingood of Ohiopyle and Barbara, wife of Kirk Lamay, Bruce, husband of Mei Yee Livingood and Carl, husband of Lisa Livingood, all of Washington; nine stepgrandchildren, Jason, Ean, Cory, Paul, Max, Tyler and Lexi Livingood and Brandon and Jennifer Lamay; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; two foster sons, Chris, husband of Kim Dille of Cecil, and Brian Dille of Washington; five foster grandchildren, Chad, Tyler, Logan, Shannen and Keith Dille; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husbands, is her only brother, Arthur Jesse Scott.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, with the Rev. Norman Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Concord Presbyterian Church, 155 Old Concord Road, Prosperity, PA 15329, or Sam 9 Inc., 290 West High Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, a faith-based daycare program for adults with intellectual disabilities.
