Anthony was the son of Michael Baitz and Rosalin Matala, recorded with them and siblings in the 1920 Cincinnati census. Both parents died in 1927.

He was listed in Cincinnati's 1930 and 1940 federal censuses living with his older sisters: in 1930, Elsie Baitz; and 1940, Barbara Baitz. They were head of house for themselves and their siblings.

On 31 Jul 1943 Anthony M. Baitz enlisted in the US Army as Private. He died during his service in Italy.
