Royalty. Born the ninth child of Charles VI and Isabeau de Baviere. He was created Duc de Touraine in 1401 and married Jacqueline de Hainaut in 1415. When he succeeded his brother as Dauphin four months later he renounced the Touraine in favour of his younger brother Charles. He was poisoned.
