GATE CITY, Va. - Daryl Scott Templeton, 41, entered into rest Friday ( Sept. 3, 2004 ).

Born in Sullivan County on Aug. 25, 1963 , he was the son of Kate Musick Templeton and the late Everette Lee Templeton.

Surviving are two sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce and Billy Wayne Gilmer, Nickelsville , Va. , and Freda Moore-Romine, Kingsport .

Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Gate City Funeral Home.

Services will be at 8 p.m. today in the Gene Falin Memorial chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Riley Boy and the Rev. Joe Barber officiating.

Music will be provided by Witness.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Holston View Cemetery , Weber City , Va. The family will be meeting at 10:15 at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family requests those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the charity of their choice in honor of Mr. Templeton and Daryl.

Father, son die in Scott County accident.

GATE CITY - An 83-year-old Gate City man and his 41-year-old son died in an automobile accident that occurred at 4:10 p.m. Friday on Route 665 in Scott County . Virginia State Police said Everett Lee Templeton suffered a massive heart attack while driving and ran off the left side of the road and struck an embankment. The vehicle, a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass, then overturned, rolled over and struck a 1900 Chevrolet Blazer. According to the report from Trooper B.K Davidson, Daryl Scott Templeton, a passenger in his father's vehicle, died at the scene. The driver of the Blazer was not injured.
