Husband of Virginia Ann (Syferd) Hodson (1892-1976). They were married on November 24, 1910 in Leesburg, Highland, Ohio. Herman was the son of John Dalton "J.D." Hodson and Lurana "Lulu" (Gwin) Hodson. Herman was a Captain in the US Army Medical Corps. and had been with the 509th Engineers, American Expeditionary Forces (February 18, 1918 - August 5, 1919). After the war, Capt. Hodson was a general practice physician. He was the father of Edmund Robert Hodson.
