VERA JOYCE (MOBLEY) BUSS was born in Rosston, Oklahoma on February 7, 1944, to Charlie and Esther (Birkle) Mobley. Joyce attended school in Rosston and Laverne, Oklahoma. On June 22, 1962, she joined Scott Henry Batman in marriage, and to this union 5 children were born. Scott preceded in death December 30, 1988. On April 3, 2004, Joyce joined Curtis Max Buss, from Buffalo, Oklahoma, in marriage. Joyce and Curtis shared life together working and being a loving mentor for many people within Harper County. Joyce was known as a loving mother and a hard worker. She owned and operated her own lawn care service, drove a school bus for the Laverne schools, cooked in several of the local area cafes, painted houses, and built numerous stucco cattle tanks. Joyce loved to bake; she received numerous awards and accolades for her famous pies, cakes and irresistible fudge. She spent her free time caring for her garden, canning jellies, baking, and being a wonderful grandmother. Joyce departed this life for a better one with her Heavenly Father on February 5, 2013, in Woodward, Oklahoma at the age of 68, two days short of her 69th birthday. JEREMIAH 29:11, For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., February 8, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo, Oklahoma, followed by a Prairie burial at the High Point Cemetery Buffalo, under the direction of Wilkinson Funeral Service, Buffalo.
