Actor. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Kelly is best known for his portrayal of 'Porter Ricks,' the father on the televison series, "Flipper" from 1964 to 1968. Among his other work was the films, "Thunder Island" (1963), "Flipper's New Adventure" (1964), "Around The World Under The Sea" (1966), "The Longest Hunt" (1968), "Berlin Affair" (1970), Company Of Killers" (1970), Drive Hard, Drive Fast" (1973), and the television shows, "The Beverly Hillbillies," "Panic!," "Adventures In Paradise," "21 Beacon Street," "The Rifleman," and "Straightaway." In 1969 Kelly was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident and didn't do much acting later in his career. Kelly died in Voorhees, New Jersey, at the age of 73.
