Salustiano De Olozaga
Birth: 1805
Death: 1873

Spanish Lawyer and Liberal politician. In 1836 Olozaga was elected Civil Governor of Madrid by Jose Alvarez Mendizabal, and shortly after he was elected Member of the Regional Assembly of Logroņo y Madrid. He took on the leadership of the Liberal Government in 1843. He was not able to form a progressive government so he dissolved the Parliament. He was accused of violating the will of Queen Isabel II, who was at the time 13 years old, Olozaga was dismissed and went into exile. Leader of the Progressive Party, he was involved in all the conspiracies of the 'Revolucion de 1868'. He was the Spanish Ambassador in Paris in 1840, and 1869 until his death in 1873. (bio by: Bunny Boiler)
