GREENFIELD - Ruth M. (Pearson) Galbraith, 79, of 9 Tulip Lane, died Monday (3-8-04), at Quabbin Valley Health Care Center.

Born in Deerfield, Nov. 20, 1924, she was the daughter of Henry A. and Rosa M. (Buffum) Pearson. She graduated from the former Deerfield High School in 1942, moving to Greenfield one year later. She had lived in Greenfield ever since.

She was employed with Greenfield Tap and Die from 1942 to 1945 and with Millers Falls Tool Co. from 1944 to 1953. She then worked at Wilson's Department Store from 1957 to 1960 and Wesco Electric Co. from 1964 to 1969. She worked for Nichols and Harrison from 1970 to 1971 and the Town of Greenfield from 1971 to 1975, retiring in 1976.

She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Greenfield. She did volunteer work for the former Franklin Nursing Home of Greenfield.

Her husband, Clyde H., died in 1994.

She was also predeceased by three ex-husbands, Paul Jackson in 1959, John Jackson in 1973 and Stewart Dykes in 1978.

Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 14 High St., with the Rev. Dr. Federico Agnir, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Spring burial will be in North Cemetery, Gill.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Pioneer Valley Humane Society, P.O. Box 786, Greenfield, MA 01302.
