In Raynham, formerly of Clinton Street, June 6, 2012 Leon R. Parker devoted husband of fifty five years of the late Barbara (Quagan) Parker, died at Life Care center in Raynham at the age of 82. Born and educated in Taunton, Leon was the son of the late Milton and Louise (Moran) Parker. Leon fought in the Korean War. He was a member of the 538th Engineers and the 9th Infantry Division. He received the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, the Presidential Unit Citation. He was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans Assoc and was instrumental in the design of the statue for the Korean War Memorial located at the Taunton District Courthouse. Leon also was a member of the Taunton Lodge of Elk's # 150 and the Taunton American Legion. Leon was a truck driver before he was married and then joined the local 626 Plumber & Steamfitters as a welder. Leon was a loving and devoted father of Linda Gray and her husband Mark of Webster, Paula McDonough and her husband Robert of Bridgewater, Robin Rheaume and her husband John of South Dartmouth, Brenda Pacheco and her late husband Luiz of Bourne, Leona Hooben and her husband Laurence of Raynham, Norma Jean Cardin and her husband Charles of Taunton and the late Michele Lee Parker. Grandfather of Eric and Lauren Gray, Patrick, Kayla and David McDonough, Brendan, Christopher and Erica Rheaume, Leon and Aaron Pacheco, Krystle, Amanda and Victoria Hooben, Tayler and Jennifer Cardin and great grandfather of four. Brother of Jane Heanault and her late husband Louie of Middleboro, Richard Parker and his wife Rosemary of Taunton and the late Marian Harwood and Madeline Ritchie. A service will be held at the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Monday, June 11th at 11 AM. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at 1:30 PM after the service on Monday.
