Served in the Revolutionary War--
Edward Landon was a resident of Flanders, New Jersey, at the time of his enlistment for the Revolutionary War. He was a Private in the Co. commanded by Capt. Dickerson, and the Regiment of Col. Snake. He testified that he also volunteered to serve under Capt. Samuel Landon.
Edward stated in his Revolutionary War Pension application on Sep. 28, 1832, in Berlin Township, Knox County, Ohio, that "after the War, I lived in the state of New York for 15-20 years and in different parts of Ohio since 1816."

Edward married Tryphena Hewitt on Feb. 4, 1791, in Kingsbury, Washington County, New York, at the home of Esquire Morse, by Rev. John Hitchcox, according to testimony given by Tryphena when she was applying for a Widow's Pension for Edward's Revolutionary War Service. She was awarded a sum of $33 per year. This was in 1850, the year before she died
