Union Colonel in the Kansas State Militia.
Constitutional Delegate, and Free-State supporter. In 1856, he became the First mayor of Lawrence, Kansas. In 1863 he was elected county treasurer and reelected in 1865.
His other children were Arthur, Edna and Fanny Blood.
