Dixie was born to Richard and Thelma Hudson on October 3, 2942 in Jacksonville Beach, FL. She lived there until she was eleven years old; then moved to Brownsville, Texas. She met Bob Gregory during the summer of 1956. They fell deeply in love, eloped to become man and wife and best friends on November 24, 1956.
On December 9th, 1957, Dixie and Bob were blessed with the birth of the first son, Robert III and then blessed a second time with the birth of their second son, Kevin on June 6, 1960.
Dixie's whole life revolved around her two sons and husband. She was always there to give support and comfort, and above all, her unselfish love and devotion.
After the boys were raised, Dixie and Bob made numerous trips to both the East and West Coasts. She especially loved the many trips to Las Vegas with Bob and their friends. She also loved motorsports, fishing, and golf.
In April of this year, God finally decided that he wanted Dixie in heaven with him but delayed the process for a while so that her family had plenty of time to bid her farewell. She went with him in peace on the 14th of this month.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Bob Gregory of Corpus Christi; two sons, Robert III (Barbara) of Tulsa, OK, and Kevin (Lourdes) of Lufkin, four grandchildren, Robert IV, Natalee, Alina, and Taylor. She is also survived by her mother, Thelma Sims of Robstown.
Interment will follow services at Seaside Memorial Park.
