The Oklahoman, March 3, 1996: Gilbert B Lawson, 88, passed away Feb 28, 1996 after a lengthy illness. He was born Nov 10, 1907 in Madison Co AR to Ely and Susie Lawson. He grew up in the Eureka Springs area and moved to OKC in 1919. He worked for various trucking companies and Superior Feed Mills until his retirement in 1968. He was a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church since 1948.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gerald Don Lawson; 2 brothers, Homer and Eugene; nephew, Terry Glen Lawson. Survivors include his wife, Blanche, of the home; grandson, Gerald Don Lawson III; and a dau-in-law, Dawn Lawson of San Antonio; brother and sis-in-law, Elmo and Mary Lawson; a special niece, Sevalla VanPool and her family; 3 nephews; another niece.

Special thanks to employees of Southern Oaks Manor and Hospice Care of Oklahoma for their loving care. Services will be 2 pm Monday, March 4 at Capitol Hill Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
