George Samuel Houston, lifelong resident of Springfield and retired plastering contractor, died yesterday at his home, East Matheny avenue. He was 74 years old. Death was due to a heart ailment.
Surviving are his wife, Villa; seven sons, James, Fred, Peter, Clarence, George, jr., Harold and Horace; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Finnegan, Mrs. Joe Farris and Mrs. Louis Pilcher; twenty-three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was a member of Hope Evangelical church. Services at the residence and burial in Oak Ridge cemetery.
