Born October 23, 1931 in Hubbardston, MI, the son of George M. and Margaret C. (Smith) McKenna, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in Lansing at age 81. Jerry was a graduate of St. John the Baptist High School in Hubbardston and served in the US Army from 1952 - 1954 in the Korean Conflict. Jerry retired from General Motors where he worked as a Parts Inspector. Jerry was a simple man who loved bicycling, cross country skiing, and music. He had great enjoyment each day as he fed his birds and squirrels. Jerry is survived by his sister, Catherine (R.Jay) Kussmaul, 3 brothers: Eugene (Bonnie) McKenna, Lewis McKenna and Bernard (Joan) McKenna, and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00AM at St. Mary Cathedral with Rev. Monsignor Bernard Reilly as celebrant. Rite of committal will be Saturday at 2:00PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Hubbardston, MI. Visitation is Friday 2-4 & 6-8PM at the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel, 6020 W. Saginaw where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30PM. Visitation continues Saturday beginning at 9:00AM at the church. Memorials can be made to St. Vincent DePaul or St. Mary Cathedral in memory of Jerry.
