"Jenet Buchanan Blue, the second child and second daughter of Effie Gilchrist and Captain John Blue, was born May 17, 1817 and died May 31, 1893. On June 6, 1833, she married William Buchanan, one of the guardians of her family, appointed by her father just before his death."

Eleven children:
(1) John Blue Buchanan, born October 10, 1834, died September 21, 1882. Was in Civil War four years - made captain. Never married.
(2) James Calvin Buchanan, born October 5, 1836, died June 6, 1864. Killed at Battle of Cold Harbor in Civil War. Buried in Blue Graveyard.
(3) Sarah Elizabeth Buchanan, born December 10, 1838, died January 15 (or 16), 1928.
(4) William Buchanan, II, born August 26, 1841, died February 29, 1912.
(5) Alexander Buchanan, born May 5, 1843, died June 27, 1862.
(6) Effie Jane Buchanan, born June 20, 1845, died February 7, 1912.
(7) Luther Buchanan, born June 1, 1848, died October 19, 1850.
(8) Flora Virginia Buchanan, born December 25, 1850, Laurinburg, NC. She attended Floral College. Died in 1941.
(9) Catherine Isabella Buchanan, born May 8, 1853, died April 14, 1922.
(10) Edwin Buchanan, born August 27, 1855, died November 4, 1937.
(11) Infant, lived only a few days. No dates.
