Carolyn W. Oliver, 64, wife of David E. Oliver, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at her residence in Sumter. Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of Alfred Sr. and Novella Nelson Williams.
Carolyn was educated in the public Schools of Sumter County. She was a graduate of the former Eastern High School, Class of 1966. At an early age, she joined Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church and served on the gospel choir and the senior citizen ministry. Carolyn was employed with Carolina Furniture Works for many years and retired from Korn Industries in later years.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Davida Latrell Oliver; a brother, Robert Williams; and a sister, Delores W. Jackson.
Surviving are her husband, David Emmanuel; a son, David Jermaine; her parents, Alfred and Novella Williams; and eight siblings, Alfred Jr. (Jeannie) Williams, Edward (Bernice) Williams, Velma Williams, Sandra (Willie) Ford, Beatrice (Duane) Adams, and Linda (Robert ) Grant, all of Sumter, Mary Ann (Phillip) Johnson and Wayne (Lillie) Williams of Atlanta.
Funeral services: Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church, 1400 Mulberry Church Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Nate Brock officiating.
Interment will follow in Mulberry Church Cemetery.
