Mrs. Alberta Areford, 89, of 22 N. Porter Street, Waynesburg, died at 9 .m. Monday, September 25, 1967, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born October 4, 1878, at Mt. Morris, a daughter of Basil Lemley and Eliza Lemley. Her father, a Civil War veteran, died several years ago at the age of 102.
Mrs. Areford had lived the early part of her life in the Mt. Morris area. Following her marriage she had lived at Waynesburg.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene at Waynesburg.
One son, Merle Lemley Areford, and one sister are deceased.
