Family and friends will gather to celebrate an amazing life of 107 years for Amy Bedwell at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, in Resthaven Mausoleum. Our beloved Amy went to be with the Lord on Feb. 19, 2013. Amy was born on Sept. 8, 1905, to James and Della (Wise) Gore in Provo, Ark. She graduated from high school and married Henry Bedwell on March 19, 1922, in Dierks, Ark. Amy's joy in life came from being a wife and mother. She and Henry moved from Arkansas to Texas and lived in Morton and Plainview, where she was a member of the Baptist Church. She moved to Lubbock in 1989 and lived alone until age 98. Amy enjoyed china painting in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, Henry; three children, Estellee Bedwell, Eugene Sonny Bedwell, and Henrietta Taylor; and all her siblings. Survivors include a son, Herman Bedwell and wife Sandra of Lubbock; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Bedwell of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 208 West 8th Street, Plainview, TX 79072.
