Anthony Markunas, 43, son of Tony and Pauline Tallent Markunas, was born May 1947, at St. Louis, MO. He died July 3, 1990, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia, Missouri of a heart attack.
A 1965 graduate of Houston High School, he graduated in 1972 from the University of Missouri at Rolla with a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy.
He married Mary Lybyer August 9, 1969. They had three children.
He worked for four year for Rawlings Sporting Goods at Licking, MO before moving to Columbia, MO in 1979. He was a Manufacturing Engineer for 3M Electronics Products Division.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kristine.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, of the home in Columbia; two children Jennifer and Charles of the home; his parents, Tony and Pauline Markunas of Houston; three sisters, Barbara of Des Moines, IA, Stella of Palo Alto, CA, and Leora of Cinncinnati, OH.
Services were held July 7 at Evans Funeral Chapel with Rev Sheldon Zook and Rev Frank Childers officiating. Burial was in Dykes Cemetery.
