Howard "Tom" Essex Jr. 68, Beatrice died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at his home. He was born July 2, 1944 rural Liberty, NE. He served his country in the Navy from 1961 to 1965. Tom was a drug and alcohol counselor and a deep tissue and massage therapist in Tacoma, WA before moving back to Beatrice.
Survivors include his mother, Genevieve Essex of Beatrice; daughter, Edith Ogden of Lincoln; two grandchildren; brother, Randy and wife Angye of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Eunice Wilson and husband Jim of Gillette, WY; Lois Essex of Lincoln; aunt, Mildred Gollihugh of San Diego, CA; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Howard T. Essex Sr.; sister, Judith Essex.
Memorial graveside services will be held at a later date in the Stark Cemetery, rural Beatrice. There will be no viewing, but a visitation will be Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Harman-Wright Mortuary, Beatrice.
