Father Reginald Schrimpf (birth name: Sydney Charles) was born in 1923 in Francis Creek, Wisconsin. He attended Salvatorian Seminary in St. Nazianz for high school and the first two years of college. He entered the Novitiate there in 1943, and he made his profession of vows on September 8, 1944. He continued his studies for the priesthood at Divine Savior Seminary in Lanham, Maryland, and Catholic University in Washington, DC, where he was ordained in the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on June 6, 1950. Fr. Reginald taught in the seminary in St. Nazianz; and then in the seminary in Lanham, while also serving as procurator for the province. In 1956, he returned to St. Nazianz as teacher, spiritual director, and athletics coach, and continued to serve the province as procurator. During summer months, he directed the seminary's boys' camp. Beginning in 1962, he ministered as Superior of the community in Blackwood, New Jersey, and taught in Mother of the Savior Seminary there. From 1965 to 1967, he lived at Salvatorian Center in New Holstein, Wisconsin, serving as the province's treasurer. In 1967, while living in Sioux City, Iowa, he oversaw the sale of the former Trinity Prep Seminary. He was then pastor of Holy Trinity Parish in School Hill, Wisconsin, until his retirement in 1993, to St. Mary's Home in Manitowoc, where he remained until his death on January 17, 2003. Fr. Reginald is remembered as an intelligent man who was also an excellent handy-man, and he could fix and maintain almost anything electrical, do carpentry, and maintain huge boilers. He loved to golf and he excelled at it. He was a leader who led with a quiet strength. His brother, Fr. Raymond Schrimpf, was also a Salvatorian priest of the USA Province. Fr. Reginald was buried alongside family members in the cemetery of St. Anne's Parish in Francis Creek, Wisconsin.
