Dan Thomas Harper, age 64 of Nashville, TN, died on Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Belem, Brazil. He was born on September 14, 1948 in Knoxville, TN to the late Ewing O. Harper, Jr. and Lillian Goldtrap Harper. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Brother Darrell Blankenship officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Cemetery in Adams, TN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. and Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Dan was a retired real estate agent and long-standing member of The Volunteer State Archeological Society. He was a member of Charlotte Heights Church of Christ in Nashville, TN. He is survived by two brothers, Don Harper of Seattle, WA and Robert Harper of Adams, TN; sister, Julia Harper Boyd (Keith) of Adams, TN; niece, Sarah Boyd of Adams, TN; and nephew, Michael Boyd of Adams, TN. Pallbearers will be Larry Ashworth, John Roe, Lawson Mabry, Harry Boyd, John Minton, Sammy Bryant, E.J. Boyson and Whitfield Hamilton.
