He died at his home in Ft. Covington.

He was born on Dec. 18, 1919 in Fort Covington, a son of James and Mae Mayville Ghostlaw.

He married Jeanette Quenneville on Oct. 18, 1948 at St. Mary's Church. She died Jan. 26, 1976.

He married Esther Dumas Tolman on Nov. 12, 1977 at St. Mary's Church.

An Army veteran of World War II, he was present at the invasion of Normandy.

He was employed by Alcoa, Massena, as a blacksmith for 36 years, retiring May 1, 1982.

Surviving was his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Barbara) Johnson; and Mrs. Burton (Patricia) Chapman; two step-sons, Robert and Charles Tolman; two step-daughters, Mrs. Patricia Rubira; and Mrs. Mary Stone; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth; and Vernon; and two sisters, Mrs. Bella Smith and Mrs. Donald (Elizabeth) Burditt.

Four brothers, Benjamin, Charles, Lyle and Herman Ghostlaw, and two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Cunningham and Evelyn Ghostlaw, died previously.
