Blues Musician. He was an American blues singer and electric guitarist, born Morris Holt of sharecroppers in Torrance, Mississippi. In 1955 he moved to Chicago, not rated very highly by his peers, he returned to Mississippi. By 1965 he was back in Chicago, along with his younger brother joining him with the backing band "Teardrops". Performing a no-holds-barred brand of Chicago-style electric blues, they were regulars on the music festival circuit. His song "Scufflin" began his recording career in 1966, followed by a number of singles in the mid 1970s. He released his first album, "Born Under A Bad Sign," on a French label in 1977. In 2003, for the sixth time, Magic Slim and the Teardrops won the W.C. Handy Award as "Blues Band Of The Year". In 2012 he put out an album of covers titled, "Bad Boy". (bio by: Babe)
