William Edward Cockrell, 50, of Overton Road, who died Sunday, was a native of Mississippi. He had lived in Birmingham, Alabama 12 years and was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church. He was an assistant manager for computer services at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Valley Chapel with burial at Elmwood.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Ronald Clay Cockrell and Bruce Andrew Cockrell, both of Birmingham; and a brother, Richard Terrell Cockrell, Pollock, Louisiana.
The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
