Mrs. Mathew Pokorski, 90, (above) died late Tuesday morning at the home
of a daughter, Mrs. Anna Mrotek, 2002(?) Madison St., Manitowoc, following
a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Leschke-Bergner
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at St. Casimir's Catholic Church,
Northeim, the Rev. Arthur Danks officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.
Mrs. Pokorski, nee Mary Sypneski, was born in Poland on June 24, 1866. In
November of 1883 she was married, in Poland, to Mathew Pokorski and the
couple came to Wisconsin in 1889. They located on a farm near Newton. The
husband died 14 years ago and 8 years ago Mrs. Pokorski moved to Manitowoc.
She was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Casimir Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Anton Poklinkoski, Mrs. Louis Bonk
and Mrs. Anna Mrotek of Manitowoc; four sons, Stanley, Anton and Alex of
Manitowoc and Frank of Newton; 23 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren.
Two children preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at
8 o'clock this Wednesday evening.
