Elaine Bennington, age 73, of Manitowoc, died late Thursday evening, October 26, 1995, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 pm. Monday, October 30, 1995, at Knollwood Mausoleum. Officiating at the service will be Rev. David Klutterman with entombment at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
Elaine was born April 14, 1922 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, daughter of the late Andrew and Gertrude Egnar Fortin. She graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, in 1940. Elaine then continued her education at the Holy Family School of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse. She served in various capacities in the field of nursing with the most recent being a private duty nurse and also being employed as a Manitowoc County Nurse.
She married William Bennington March 14, 1945. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1993.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dean and Toni Bennington, LaCrosse, Wis., James Bennington, Butler, Pa.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Michael Barr, Aurora, Ill.; seven grandchildren. She is also survived by many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; one brother, Dean Fortin.
Friends may call at Knollwood Mausoleum from 1:30 p.m. Monday until the time of the service at 2:30 p.m. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
