Arnold A. Bodart, age 84, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, died on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 13, 2008, at Shady Lane, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1923, in Green Bay, son of the late George and Emily (Clark) Bodart. Arnold served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. On Oct. 29, 1949, he married the former Ruth Muchowski in Manitowoc. Arnold was employed as a railroad switchman at Chicago Northwestern Railroad until his retirement in 1984.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law: Harold and Mabel Bodart and a brother-in-law: Raymond Vassilew.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at The
Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc. Officiating at the memorial service will be Deacon Paul Kieffer. Cremation has taken place, and Arnold will be laid to rest at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth, at a later date. Military rites will be accorded by the VFW Otto Oas Post 659 immediately following the service.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, until the time of service at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Arnold's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the third floor at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc for their compassionate care and support given to Arnold and his family.
