I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved wife, Mary, all my household furniture and cow, six sheep, six shoats and one sow, andone horse,three hives of bees, one large kettle, two vinegar barrels, one small spinning wheel, one large spinning wheel, one reel, one clothes line, one
meat tub, and one wash tub. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter, Virginia, all my interest in Singer Sewing Machine. I give and bequeath to my beloved son, Rufus W Clark, the farm on which I now life, it being
two surveys known as the Hunt and Hale surveys. Upon this condition that he, R W Clark, is to give my daughter, Virginia, a home during her life or until she marries. And if he fails to give her a home as set forth he shall pay her threehundred dollars in cash. I also give my son, Rufus W Clark, one cow and allmy farming tools, all my carpenter tools. To my son, A T Clark, I have already given his full share of my property and I further direct that my wife, daughter and son, now living with me shall
have for their present use of fat hogs and all the grain we now have on hand. I also desire that all the property I own and not given away by this instrument shall be sold and the proceeds divided equally between my sons and daughters, viz, James E Clark, A F Clark and John Clark, Emaline Butler, Derinda Wood, Mary E Brown, Paulina C Butler and Narcissus T Via. And lastly I do nominate my son Rufus W Clark to be theexecutor.

Rufus Clark, the 10th child of Alexander and Mary Hawkins) Clark, was born 23 Dec 1812 in Monroe. He married 9 Feb 1837 Mary Ford 17 Nov 1816-9 Mar 1887 Ref: Monroe COUNTY Marriage Book F-6 Bond Jacket H-373. She was the daughter of William Ford (Foard).
In 1851 Rufus and Mary moved to Pipestem and built their house overlooking the new river, the land having been conveyed to him by grant. Warrent #1469 dated 20 May 1851.
Rufus died 12 Jan 1886. His will dated 9 Jan 1886 is recorded in Summers COUNTY Will Book 1 page 422 and was probated 5 Mar 1886.
Rufus and Mary are buried in the Clark Cemetery, which is a short distance from the old home place. They were the parents of 11 children.

Rufus Clark, the founder of the family in this county, was born 13 Dec 1812 near Indian Mills, then in Monroe COUNTY, where James M Keatleyand his family now lives. He was the 10th of a family of 12 children. His father was Alexander Clark, and was of Irish descent. Alexander Clark's wife was Mary Hawkins and they were married 1796 in what is now Monroe COUNTY.
Rufus Clark married Mary Ford and they had 10 children; 4 sons and 6 daughters.Rufus and his wife settled on the old Clark homestead, now occupied by R. W.Clark, overlooking the New River. Rufus died 12 Jan 1886. Alexander Clark, a brother of Rufus, settled in KANAWHA COUNTY.
