RAYMOND G. DIEDRICH

Raymond G. Diedrich, age 77, of 155 McKinley St., Valders, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

He was born May, 15, 1932, in Calumet County, son of the late George and Cecelia (Grenzer) Diedrich. Raymond graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1950. He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart. On Oct. 8, 1955, he married the former Genevieve Benishek at Holy Innocence Catholic Church. Raymond was employed with the Valders Co-op for 25 years, retiring in 1996. After retirement, Raymond was employed part time at Larson Chevrolet in Manitowoc. He was with the Valders Fire Department for 29 years. He also served as usher for St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills.

Raymond is preceded in death by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Janice Diedrich, Herbert and Arline Brandel, James Wadzinske Sr. and Dorothy Tuschl.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Matthew Simonar with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. The Christianson & Deja Funeral Home, Valders, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
