Marian J. Emond, age 82, formerly of 330 S. Rockway St., Mishicot, entered into eternal rest on Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at the Manitowoc Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot, with entombment to follow in the Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc.
Marian was born, July 3, 1923, in Mishicot, to the late Hugo and Ida (née Wenholz) Ploeckelmann, and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of the Mishicot High School with the class of 1940, and in 1954 she received her accounting degree from Lakeshore Technical College.
On April 28, 1943, she married Clarence Emond at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot. He preceded her in death Nov. 10, 1987.
Marian was employed as a bookkeeper for Natural Ovens for many years and retired in 1987. She was a faithful member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot, and played the church organ both at St. Peters and Rockwood for many years. Marian was very active with the Ladies Bible Hour, of St. Peters and the Sunday Bible Hour.
Survivors include one sister: Ruth (Robert) Lahey, of Eaton, Ohio; one brother-in-law: Richard (Elaine) Emond, of Two Rivers; one sister in law: Ilsa (John) Eatwell, of Iowa; nieces, nephews, and special friends: Bob and Gail Resch, and their family, of Mishicot; Ronnie and Carol Jaeger and their family, of Two Rivers; Bruce and Donna Kickbusch, and their family, of Shoto; Roy and Marsha Kortbein, and their family of Mishicot; and by nine godchildren.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, and one sister.
A memorial fund has been established in her name. The Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home of Mishicot is assisting the Emond family with funeral arrangements.
