KENNETH FINNEL Kenneth Finnel, age 75, of 430 Jorgenson St., Denmark, died Sunday, May 23, 1999, peacefully surrounded by his family in a local hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 27, 1999, at St. James Catholic Church, Cooperstown, with Rev. Ron Colombo officiating. Entombment will be in Knollwood Cemetery, town of Kossuth. He was born July 9, 1923, to Sam and Mary (Keehan) Finnel. He married the former Frances Nachtwey, on June 14, 1947, and enjoyed 51 years of marriage. He served in the United State (sic) Air Force with the 16th Weather Squadron stationed in Alaska. He was active in the V.F.W. and American Legion Posts, in Denmark. He served as town of New Denmark Clerk for 20 years and also served as a member of the board of directors for the Viking Rescue Squad. More recently he was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. A lifetime farmer, he enjoyed his retirement and his frequent helpful visits to the family farm. He also enjoy bowling, golf, and play cards with friends. Survivors include his wife, Frances; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Dean Knuth, Ginger and Jim Renier; one granddaughter, Jamie Renier, who was the twinkle in his eyes, all of Denmark. Also surviving are one brother, Frank Finnel, New Hampshire; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Eleanor Finnel, Green Bay, Jane and her husband, Ralph Wagner, Cleveland, Patricia Wilson, Two Rivers; plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kay; one sister, Marion and her husband, Clem Heiser; two brothers, Donald and Jim Finnel; and one sister-in-law, Betty Finnel. Friends may call at Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty Hwy "R", Denmark, on Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. A Parish was service will be held on Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. Joint American legion and V.F. W. services to follow at the funeral home.
